|
|
|
Project reference: J2-9649
Contract type: basic project
Duration: 1.1.2007 - 31.12.2009
Project cost: 0.61 FTE
Project partners: University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Primorska, Primorska Institute of Natural Sciences and Technology Koper
Principal researcher: prof. dr. Denis Trček
Principal researcher JSI: doc. dr. Roman Novak
Nowadays it is clear that there is still not enough trust in the network. Intrusions are rising, spam is proliferating, assured operation of systems is becoming essential, identity thefts are a serious concern for citizen, etc. The answer to these problems are IT services targeting security, privacy and trust. Although these terms are closely related, they are essentially addressing different issues. Roughly, security services can be seen as mainly technical issue. On the other hand, privacy and trust have more in common with user modelling and support, which is often not the case in contemporary solutions. There is also the emerging IT trend of mobile and wireless computing where devices have limited, or very limited resources, e.g. smartcards, RFID circuits and weak embedded devices. The goal of the project is to bridge the above gap with development of lightweight services and methods for optimization of existing services for security, privacy and trust. Further, clear distinction is made between security on one hand, and privacy and trust on the other. Appropriate methodologies are developed to support trust that is based on user support and modelling techniques. The reason is straightforward – security in information systems is not just about technology, but inherently includes human users. |

Project Acronym: M2-0134
Vrsta projekta: CRP
Contract type: execution
Duration: 1.6.2006 - 30.11.2008
Project cost: 1,48 FTE
Project partners: Univerza v Mariboru, Fakulteta za elektrotehniko, računalništvo in informatiko; Inštitut za avtomatiko Maribor, IGEA, svetovanje in storitve s področja nepremičnin, infrastrukture in prostora, d.o.o., Raziskovalno-razvojna enota na področju informacijskih sistemov - GIS
Principal researcher: izr. prof. dr. Vojko Matko
Principal researcher JSI: dr. Igor Ozimek
Short description:
The goal of the project was a complete modernization of information and communication system used by URSZR (Uprava Republike Slovenije za zaščito in reševanje - Administration for civil protection and disaster relief) in its CORS (Center za obveščanje Republike Slovenije - Notification centre) and thirteen ReCO's (Regijski center za obveščanje - Regional notification centre). Due to its growing obsolescence, the hardware as well as software equipment needed to be modernized.
JSI participated in the project in the field of the communications infrastructure. In addition to the computer network based on the TCP/IP protocol, it encompasses a number of special communications subsystems which must be at the management and user level integrated as much as possible: a traditional telephone system with corresponding telephone exchanges and support for the emergency call number 112, professional mobile radio systems ZARE and ZARE PLUS, a paging system and a public warning system. The following tasks have been accomplished:
- Analysis of the existing non-computer and computer communication infrastructure
- Design of a new system with a definition of requirements for the new equipment with emphasize on compatibility at the communication infrastructure level
- Implementation of the solutions in the framework of a pilot system of the new information and communication infrastructure
Other partners on the project were working on modernization of the hardware and software parts of the information system and assurance and evaluation of reliability of its operation.

Šifra projekta: M2-0130
Vrsta projekta: CRP
Vloga raziskovalne skupine v projektu: izvajalec

Vloga raziskovalne skupine v projektu: izvajalec
